Scenario 2
So the other intern was supposed to sign himself out but forgot because of an early dismissal and texts me to sign him out. It's very possible to forget to sign yourself out because I almost forgot to do that yesterday at my field site. Though he wasn't on the bus when we were going to the school. I wouldn't sign him out if that was the case because what if he didn't actually come to the field site? Now I would look bad. We're also not allowed to sign other people in or out because they will be counted absent because it's not their handwriting.

I wouldn't care if he wanted to trust me or not because I want to do the right thing all the time. I would lose the trust of our teacher Mrs. Meddlesome, mentor teacher, and the principal if he was lying about being there. I want to build a good relationship at the school so I can be trusted to actually teach and do things. Yes, he won't trust me but how can I trust him when I didn't see him on the bus? Of course, I could have just not noticed him but why take that chance and jeopardize myself?

I'm sure he could explain to Mrs. Meddlesome that he forgot to sign out because he had an early dismissal. She should know already and his mentor teacher should also know as long as he wasn't lying. I wouldn't take the chance of being in trouble for signing him out when he wasn't telling the truth.
